John,
I went to Minneapolis to see firsthand what is happening and learn about how this community is coming together after a targeted racist and political attack on its citizens. And let me tell you something, the people of this city are real patriots, American heroes who are fighting for freedom against an oppressive government.

And when I say oppressive government, I mean it. In fact, I mean something very similar to what happened in Nazi Germany. This administration has normalized government murders and the violation of our constitutional freedoms and rights in a way that is frighteningly similar.
They conditioned German citizens to accept the idea that agents of the state could single out certain members of their community, target them, and violate their rights with impunity. That's what's happening today in Minneapolis, but this administration is learning that American citizens will never just lie down and let you strip their freedoms and their rights.
I'll have more to follow on what I learned from the people of Minneapolis, and I remain grateful to their community for welcoming me and helping me learn lessons to bring back to Massachusetts.
If you'd like to support the people of Minnesota, you can do so by contributing to the Minnesota Immigration Rights Action Committee.
To all of you who are helping in any way that you can, thank you. We must continue to stand together and fight back.
