Friend,

While I was out gathering signatures to get on the ballot this past weekend, news broke that ICE agents killed a VA hospital nurse in Minneapolis.

This man was an American citizen. He was legally carrying a registered firearm—exercising his Second Amendment rights while exercising his First Amendment rights. And the government shot him in the back while he was on the ground.

This is both a legal and moral failure. Mike Rounds is a senior member of the Armed Services Committee. He has been in the Senate a long time and has been very public about his support for protecting Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

His silence while the government kills citizens for exercising their rights is a betrayal of his oath. He’s too tied to the party line to demand accountability.

I’m a South Dakotan who believes in independence. I believe in right and wrong. I believe you take care of your neighbor and you stand up for what's right.

Help me replace the silence in D.C. with a voice that demands justice. Chip in any amount you can before January comes to a close.

I hope you’ll stand with me and demand some accountability.
