The death of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and U.S. citizen killed by ICE agents while peacefully protesting against the recent federal immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis, shocked people across this country.
This wasn’t a situation that should have ended in death — and it shouldn’t have happened under the leadership of someone entrusted with the nation’s safety. But the fact is, over the past year, Kristi Noem has shown time and again that she is unfit to lead the Department of Homeland Security.

Under her leadership, ICE has become more politicized, more reckless, and less accountable to the American people. Any trust in federal immigration enforcement officials has been shattered.
