As we face a public health crisis and economic meltdown, we need Congress to act quickly to support Texans and help our state avoid cuts to critical services.

Senate leaders just ([link removed]) revealed ([link removed]) a bare-bones COVID relief package ([link removed]) as a starting place for negotiations — and the next few days will be critical for shaping the deal they reach.

So let's make sure Congress boosts health care funding, keeps child care providers in business, extends strong unemployment benefits, helps Texans struggling to pay rent and buy groceries, ensures state and local governments can avoid cutting key services and staff, and includes immigrants in relief programs.

Will you help us deliver the message by visiting our new and improved Action Center to send an email to your Senators and Representative in Congress?

Take Action Now! ([link removed])

In particular, we are urging Congress ([link removed]) to provide critical health care funding to states by continuing the increased federal share of Medicaid costs (FMAP) until the economy recovers and raising that federal share to a higher level.

The increased federal health funding is key to providing Texans the Medicaid services we need right now.

A boost in federal funding is also a critical tool (along with the state's Rainy Day Fund) for helping the Texas Legislature deal with the state’s revenue shortfall WITHOUT state cuts to women's health, Early Childhood Intervention, SNAP food stamp enrollment, education funding, support for kids in foster care, mental health services, and other support for Texans during these hard times.

Thank you for raising your voice!
