Dear Friends of EMET,

I'm writing to alert you to a critical humanitarian crisis unfolding in Syria that demands immediate attention and action.

Reports indicate that Syrian Kurds are facing severe violence and persecution by forces aligned with Ahmed al-Sharaa (formerly Mohammed al-Julani), operating under the influence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The situation has been further destabilized by the release of ISIS prisoners from Syrian detention facilities, leading to widespread attacks against Kurdish communities.

The Syrian Kurds were key allies in the fight against ISIS, and they are now facing horrific violence—including disappearances, sexual violence, killings, and other atrocities affecting women, men, and children.

What You Can Do:

Call your Representative: (202) 225-3121

Call your Senators: (202) 224-3121

Ask them to:

Address the escalating violence against Syrian Kurds

Support appropriate American intervention to protect Kurdish communities

Hold accountable those responsible for these atrocities

These calls take just a few minutes but can make a real difference. Our Kurdish allies need us to speak up now.

Thank you for taking action.

Sincerely,

Sarah Stern and the EMET Team
