I’m not a politician, John. At least, not like most of the folks who end up in Washington.

I’m a first generation immigrant who watched my parents struggle and sacrifice to give my brother and me a chance at realizing the American Dream.

I’m a former ER doctor who knows the risk Republicans take when they ignore science and, instead, choose to blindly follow partisan politics and wealthy special interests.

I’ve lost my mom and nephew to cancer. I’ve seen firsthand how people suffer inside the walls of hospitals. I’ve seen how our inadequate health care system has forced families into desperate situations.

I refuse to accept a single penny from corporate PACs (unlike my opponent). Instead, I rely on grassroots supporters like you — because you’re what this campaign is really about. It is people-powered and grassroots-driven.

Again, I’m not a career politician and I’m pretty different than most people who end up in the U.S. House. As a doctor, I took an oath to help others and put people first. I live by that promise every single day. And I’ll continue to do so in D.C.
