While the Trump Administration's brutal occupation of American communities and violence towards peaceful Americans is intensifying rapidly, these inhumane policies aren’t new.
Folks who have been organizing for ICE accountability for years have seen this coming, because you can’t reform a corrupt agency when cruelty is the mission.
ICE is doing what was built to do: criminalize immigrants, separate families, and terrorize undocumented folks.
And despite thousands of Americans going to the streets in protest, the House of Representatives just voted to give ICE more in funding.
Senator Hickenlooper has vowed to vote no on this bill in the Senate, and the issue is that he thinks that is enough.
We need leadership that doesn’t just call out bad behaviour and corruption, but actually takes action to dismantle the systems that allow it to exist in the first place.
That’s why I support abolishing ICE and reinvesting that money into making our immigration more humane, and more effective.
It’s what I’ve done as an organizer, a state senator, and what I’ll do in Congress as your next Senator. Just last week, I attended a protest at the new Big Horn ICE Facility in Hudson, and if I am elected as a Senator, I will keep showing up to hold ICE and other agencies of injustice accountable.
But I need your help to take on the corporate fundraising machine. John, just $10 helps fuel our grassroots campaign and take on the corporate oligarchy so we can put power back into the hands of the people – can you pitch in $10 now? »
