The latest episode of our roundtable series, Sharing Space, has launched. In the third installment, we discuss a topic that weighs heavy on the hearts and minds of our community: conversion therapy. The folks who make up our panel are LGBTQ+ people who have experienced conversion therapy first-hand.

This episode’s release is timely, with a decision in the Chiles v. Salazar case expected any day from SCOTUS. Unlike many of the national conversations about conversion therapy in the headlines, this one is held by members of our community who are survivors of this dangerous and discredited practice.

We hope this episode is not only a reminder, but an eye-opener for those who might not understand how harmful conversion therapy is.

Research shows that LGBTQ+ youth who experienced conversion therapy are more than twice as likely to attempt suicide and more than 2.5 times as likely to report multiple suicide attempts in the past year.

Our goal with Sharing Space is to pass the microphone to LGBTQ+ people themselves and let them speak directly about their lives, which they know best. This episode strongly reminds of the resilience of our community, and the LGBTQ+ youth we serve.
