These last few days have been a gut-wrenching reminder of how dangerous the Trump Administration has become. The events that occurred in Minnesota should have never been allowed to happen.
It’s why I was proud to vote against the additional funding for ICE when it came to a vote in the House. Under Trump and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s direction, innocent people have been put at risk in the name of law and order.
When I meet with folks across CA-27, it’s clear that our communities are scared. I believe that public safety cannot exist without accountability -- and have called for a local investigation into the events in Minneapolis.
It’s another reminder of just how much is at stake in November. Americans cannot continue to live in fear for themselves and their neighbors.
I’ll continue to push forward for change from my position in Congress.
I hope you’re with me in these next few months, and the battle for control of the House majority -- something that is necessary for more accountability.
