Dear Friends,

On Saturday, just weeks after the shooting of Renee Good, another American citizen was killed during an enforcement operation involving federal immigration agents in Minneapolis.

Alex Jeffrey Pretti was a 37-year-old ICU nurse at the VA who dedicated his life to caring for others. His death is a tragedy, and it raises serious and urgent questions about the conduct and oversight of federal law enforcement operating in our communities.

I am calling for a full, independent, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Alex’s and Renee’s death. The facts must be established publicly, and accountability must follow.

In light of this incident and a growing pattern of unchecked abuse of authority, I am calling for the impeachment of Kristi Noem. When senior officials fail to uphold the Constitution, disregard civil liberties, and permit federal power to be exercised without restraint, Congress has a responsibility to act.

At its core, this is about our constitutional commitment to the dignity of every human life. The integrity of that promise demands restraint, respect, and accountability from those entrusted with authority.

My thoughts are with Alex’s and Renee’s families, their colleagues, and all who are grieving. We owe them the truth, accountability, and action.
