Mother Jones: DOJ’s “Ransom” Letter to Minnesota Reveals How Trump Plans to Rig the Midterms [[link removed]]
This is sickening, John.
On the same day a masked ICE agent executed Alex Pretti on the street in Minneapolis, Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stating that if he wanted to “ bring an end to the chaos in Minnesota ,” he should comply with some “ common sense solutions .”
What did MAGA Pam Bondi have in mind? For Minnesota to provide the Department of Justice with full, unredacted access to the state’s complete voter roll. "Unredacted" means including sensitive personal information like voters’ Social Security numbers, drivers license data, and party affiliations.
That's right -- the ICE occupation of Minneapolis isn't about immigration at all , but Trump using his personal attack force like a mafia threat to break kneecaps from a bad movie. Thankfully, pro-voting rights leaders in Minnesota are resisting these autocratic, strongman tactics and standing up for our fundamental rights.
We have to stand with Minnesotans and any other state where opponents of voting rights try to replicate this. Step up with $35 or whatever you can today to protect voter data and ensure the midterms are free and fair elections >> [[link removed]]

States run our elections, not the federal government, even if our Attorney General ( the theoretical top law enforcement officer in the country ) doesn't understand that basic law.
Bondi claimed that the DOJ needed the state’s full voter roll in order to “ confirm Minnesota’s voter registration practices comply with federal law .”
It's all just cover for an outrageous attempt by the Trump administration to coerce Minnesota into providing confidential voter data that would be weaponized by the president and his allies to amplify false claims of voter fraud, wrongly remove eligible voters from the rolls, and challenge election results.
Just last week the MAGA DOJ was forced to admit that DOGE employees entered an illegal agreement to give confidential information from the Social Security Administration to a voter suppression group . Do we really think that the opponents of voting rights who run the Trump administration would do any different with state data?
Every step of the Trump and MAGA plan to suppress the vote is about protecting the power they have and rigging election results in advance by choosing who is worthy of voting. Fuel our work to stop them with $35 or whatever you can today to protect our fundamental right to vote nationwide >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
