 Team, What we’re seeing in Minneapolis is beyond comprehension. This weekend, ICE fatally shot Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse who served at a Veterans Affairs facility. Earlier this month, ICE shot and killed Renee Good in her car. She was a mother of three, originally from Colorado Springs. Parents are being arrested while dropping their kids off at the bus stop. Officers in unmarked cars and masks are indiscriminately arresting people based on the language they speak or the color of their skin. ICE continues to disregard Americans’ constitutional rights and ignore due process. This is horrific. Now the Trump administration is asking Congress to continue to fund ICE. Let me be clear: The budget bill that includes DHS funding does nothing to restrain ICE’s lawlessness, and it’s not just Minnesota. This administration is continuing to target Colorado and other blue states. We have to do more. So I’m a HELL NO on the DHS funding bill that the Senate will vote on this week. We all need to push back together, make our voices heard stand up for our communities and rein in ICE’s lawless behavior. I'm grateful to have you in this fight with me. Respectfully, |
