Our 2026 Annual Fund Drive deadline is coming up fast. It's critical that we hear from you before January 30 so that we can start 2026 strong and come closer to achieving our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
The need is so great — just take a look at these numbers:
Without more scientific breakthroughs to prevent or treat Alzheimer's, the number of people living with dementia is projected to reach nearly 13.8 million by 2060.
Alzheimer's and all other dementia cost the nation an estimated $384 billion in 2025 — a number that could rise to more than $1 trillion by 2050.
Many caregivers were forced to leave their jobs or cut their hours, providing more than 19 billion hours of unpaid care, valued at nearly $413 billion.
Reading the statistics, the fight can seem overwhelming, but we're making tremendous progress. Even amid uncertain funding, Alzheimer's and dementia research continues to move forward — thanks to the Alzheimer's Association's relentless advocacy and bipartisan partners — and thanks to our supporters. But there's more work to be done in 2026.
We must continue to protect our progress. Now is the time to do more, not less.
