This past weekend, federal agents committed another unspeakable act of
violence on our streets — shooting and killing a Minneapolis ICU nurse.
Alex Pretti should still be alive right now.
My deepest condolences are with Alex’s family and everyone who knew and
loved him.
We need ICE out of Minnesota NOW.
They have detained US citizens and thrown people into the backs of
unmarked vans. They are scooping up five-year-old children. They have
deployed chemical agents at our schools. Now, they have killed another
human being, and another family and community are missing a loved one.
Enough is enough.
I refuse to give up the hope I felt on Friday, peacefully marching with
50,000 people in frigid temperatures to demand ICE OUT of Minnesota. I was
inspired by the rallies held all across this country.
[ [link removed] ]Now, I am asking everyone to call their Senator and make it clear: Do
not vote to give one more penny to ICE. Call five people you know, and ask
them to do the same thing.
Senator Smith and Senator Klobuchar are leading this fight in the Senate,
but they need our help to make the message clear. This is an opportunity
for Democrats and Republicans to come together and do the right thing.
The tide is turning, but we cannot let up now. When we all stand together,
they cannot ignore us.
We love our neighbors, we love our country, and we are on the right side
of history.
