John,

The recent actions of ICE in Minnesota have brought fear, violence, and chaos into innocent communities, including multiple killings of U.S. citizens by federal agents.

This weekend, an ICE agent shot and killed Alex Pretti, an American citizen, in broad daylight in Minneapolis.

This hits home for Wisconsin: Alex Pretti had roots in Green Bay and was a graduate of Green Bay Preble High School. Alex and our neighbors in Minnesota hold a place in all of our hearts.

Now more than ever, we need to come together and stand united with Minnesotans and with all Americans.

No place is safe from the dangerous and unlawful actions of ICE, including Wisconsin.

That’s why, two weeks ago, I called for statewide protections for Wisconsinites from ICE in sensitive locations: including bans on immigration enforcement at courthouses, hospitals, day cares, schools and colleges, domestic violence shelters and places of worship, with certain exceptions.

I was the first and still the only candidate in this race to call for comprehensive action immediately. As Wisconsin prepares to be the next target of Trump’s ICE, we must remember to take care of each other.

As this ICE activity continues in the Midwest, we need accountability and leadership that keeps communities safe without creating fear. That’s what I’m running for governor to deliver, and I’m grateful to have you with me.

More soon,

Sara
