it is our duty to fight for freedom.
it is our duty to win.
we must love and care for one another.
we have nothing to lose but our chains.
— Assata Shakur

John, ICE just
murdered another American-citizen in Minnesota. Alex Pretti was a
37-year-old ICU nurse who worked in the Minneapolis Veterans Health Care
System. He was helping a female protestor being attacked when he was
executed by ICE.

Even the last act that Alex was doing shows his kindness, bravery,
empathy, and compassion.

I refuse to accept violence from the state as normal.

Don’t become numb to it; don’t look away. We must be upset and remind
ourselves every single day that we are a part of this world and we hold so
much power to make a difference.

Already, the Trump administration is trying to claim that Alex was a
threat just like they did with Renee Good.

Democrats in the Senate must hold the line and vote NO on more funding for
ICE. These officers MUST be prosecuted and held accountable. In the House,
our representatives need to do more than statements and sign on to the
Melt ICE Act (H.R. 7190) now.

My opponent, Jimmy Gomez has taken campaign contributions from groups that
run private prisons and ICE detention centers. He’s responsible too. Alex
Pretti should be here. Renee Good should be here. From Minneapolis to LA
to Chicago. ICE is murdering people.

“Abolish ICE” is just words, if in reality you’re being funded by the very
people perpetrating this violence.

[ [link removed] ]Please, join me and call on Jimmy Gomez and every single Democratic in
Congress right now to stop making excuses and move to abolish ICE now. I’m
deeply disappointed and quite frankly disturbed by the lack of action
we’re seeing from our elected officials now.

This is not the time for halfways, grey areas, or wishy-washy stances. We
are seeing people being murdered by ICE in real time.

We must demand more from our representatives,

Angela
