John,
Another life was taken by ICE this weekend.
This time, it was Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse for our vets. Earlier this month, it was Renee Good, a mom.
These weren’t people posing a threat. They weren’t criminals. They were members of their community.
Now, we’re seeing the same aggressive posture being brought to our communities in South Texas with job site raids, racial profiling, and families living in fear.
This is a direct result of the Trump administration politicizing law enforcement, and that puts people in danger.
This is not what we stand for. Our community is built on family, labor, faith, and hard work. We believe in dignity. We believe in accountability. And we believe that every person, citizen or not, deserves to be treated with humanity and respect.
My loyalty will always be to the people that I serve. It’s why I was against the original DHS funding bill and why I am against giving them more funding.
I will support any effort to make our communities safer. I will demand accountability and say firmly:
Al Valle se le respeta.
Con respeto,
Bobby Pulido
