Friend,

I am sickened by the horrific killing of another person in Minnesota — Alex Pretti, a 37 year-old VA ICU nurse — by more than half a dozen masked agents — thugs — empowered by this lawless, thuggish President.

This was an execution. As was the murder of Renee Good.

This country — where citizens are beaten and shot in the street as if they are less than human — is unrecognizable, unacceptable, unAmerican, and utterly repulsive.

So I am speaking to President Trump directly: freeze all non-border ICE activities immediately.

The moral authority, the future greatness — the goodness — of America demands it; so too does the rule of law and our Constitution.

I urge my Republican colleagues to join me and insist the President stop; insist our courts at every level stop this madness.

Let us return to an America we recognize — and ensure all those responsible for these horrors are brought to justice.
