Friend, this weekend, federal agents executed Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an intensive care unit nurse beloved by his patients, friends, and family. Alex was helping a woman who had been pepper sprayed by agents when he was forced to the ground and fatally shot in broad daylight.
Alex is not the first victim of ICE and CBP’s lawless and deadly actions — in recent months, U.S. immigration agents also killed Renee Nicole Good, Silverio Villegas González, Isaias Sanchez Barboza, and Keith Porter. And the past year was the deadliest on record for immigrants in detention, with 32 people dying in custody.
Just as we mourn, we must organize. Our tax dollars are financing this campaign of state violence, and it must end. Appallingly, last week the House passed a budget that would give ICE and CBP billions of dollars more, on top of their already unprecedented budget.
But tomorrow, the Senate will vote, and we have an opportunity to defeat this proposed budget and demand real accountability measures that meet the moment. That’s why we need you to take action, friend.
We demand an immediate halt in ALL funding for these deadly operations until the violence, abuses, and deaths in American communities and immigration detention centers stop. Join us in urging your senators to halt funding and refuse any additional money for ICE and CBP >>> ([link removed])

Any Senator who votes yes on this spending bill is complicit in DHS’s deadly violence against our communities. We have already witnessed the deadly consequences of handing over $170 billion to these rogue agencies — we can’t let them get a single dollar more.
Thank you for making your voice heard,
