Dear John, 

By now, I’m sure you’ve seen that ICE killed another human being over the weekend, making it their ninth murder of the year. This comes just days after ICE used a five year old child, Liam Conejo Ramos, as bait to detain him and his family. All of them — Liam Conejo Ramos, Alex Pretti, Renee Good, Keith Porter, Parady La, Heber Sanchez Domínguez, Victor Manuel Diaz, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, and Geraldo Lunas Campos — deserved better.

Just two days before Pretti’s murder, the House passed a bill to increase funding for ICE.

The Trump administration has already allocated $18.75 billion dollars for ICE, for this year alone. This bill would add another $10 billion to their budget. 

Do not be fooled — they are gaslighting us when they say they can't afford to pay for healthcare for millions of Americans, yet can somehow find the money to pay ICE to murder innocent people. Let’s call them for what they are: they are domestic terrorists, and we cannot let our own government fund a terrorist organization.

The Homeland and Security appropriations bill passed the House because of seven Democrats, all of whom have elections this year:

  • Primary: March 3rd
• Rep. Tom Suozzi New York District 3
  • Primary: June 23, 2026
• Rep. Laura Gillen New York District 4
  • Primary: June 23, 2026

Now, it goes to the Senate, and it is our responsibility to make sure this bill does not pass.

Email your Senator now and tell them to oppose this bill unless ICE’s funding increase is completely erased.

Fighting this bill is what we can do right now, but when it comes to ICE, we know there is no such thing as reform. It is time to abolish ICE.
