 Dear team, On Saturday, federal agents murdered Alex Pretti in the streets of Minneapolis. Alex Pretti was a VA ICU nurse whose last act on this earth was helping a woman who had been pepper sprayed by those same federal agents. While the federal administration and right wing media work to brand him as a violent domestic terrorist, it is up to us to spread the truth. His parents remember him as “... a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact.” We must honor Alex and ensure that his impact is felt by all. I know many of you are already doing the hard work to resist and fight back against the dangerous, immoral actions of Trump’s administration. And today, I’m asking you to continue with that work or join us in it by calling the U.S. Senate and demanding our Pennsylvania Senators to vote against the Department of Homeland Security funding bill coming up for consideration. Call and email them. Don't let up. Tell your friends and family to do the same.
This is no longer a case of left or right, but right and wrong. And what’s happening in America is very, very wrong. That doesn’t mean we are powerless. We can still change course. I believe in better for all of us. But we need to work with one another to get there. Looking for other ways to make a difference?
