It's a troubling trendteam.

Last year saw a marked increase in anti-voter legislation at the state level, according to a recent report from the Voting Rights Lab — including “the most significant rollback” of voting by mail since 2021.

And it’s no surprise.

Donald Trump is demanding action from his MAGA allies to place more obstacles between certain groups of voters and the ballot box, including by restricting access to voting by mail.

He continues to spread false claims that mail ballots are fraudulent. But our movement is fighting back, working with partners in Georgia and around the country to track and prevent legislation that hinders the freedom to vote. And this year, pro-democracy advocates are working in up to about half a dozen Southern states to enact new affirmative protections with state Voting Rights Acts.

With a new legislative session underway in Georgia, and with anti-voter legislation on the rise nationally, we need to keep pushing back to ensure equal access to the ballot box.

Just last year in Georgia, grassroots supporters like you helped stop a slew of anti-voter bills from passing the General Assembly, including an attempt to ban Georgians from dropping off mail ballots over the weekend before Election Day.

As part of a pro-voting rights coalition, we monitored harmful legislation, sounded the alarm, drove public engagement and advocacy campaigns, and helped make sure that those bills did not become law.
