Dear Friends,
I was honored to represent you this past week at the RNC Winter Meeting in Santa Barbara, California, alongside Illinois National Committeewoman Rhonda Belford. It is truly a privilege to serve as your Illinois RNC members and to bring your voices, values, and priorities to the national stage.
As volunteer servant leaders for the Illinois Republican Party, we are proud to work alongside our fellow 168 RNC members under the leadership of Chairman Joe Gruters and Co-Chair KC Crosbie. The energy, unity, and shared purpose at this week’s RNC meeting were powerful and inspiring.
Important groundwork was laid for the upcoming midterm convention and for our shared mission of holding Republican majorities in the U.S. House and Senate. One especially moving moment during the general session was the unanimous vote and standing ovation honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk—a deeply emotional and unifying tribute. It left many of us reflecting on a profound question: What sacrifices are we willing to make to uplift America?
Throughout the meeting, updates from Chairman Gruters and Co-Chair Crosbie made one thing abundantly clear: our party is united, focused, and strong in its support of President Trump and the America First Agenda.
Alongside important committee meetings and discussions on key priorities such as Election Integrity and Grassroots Engagement, we were fortunate to take part in several meaningful highlights.
We enjoyed both a breakfast and evening reception with Scott Jennings, noted author and conservative CNN commentator. His newest book, A Revolution of Common Sense: How Donald Trump Stormed Washington and Fought for Western Civilization, sparked thoughtful discussion and engaging Q&A. His humor, authenticity, and down-to-earth personality made the experience especially enjoyable—and it didn’t hurt that he’s practically a neighbor over in Kentucky.
We were also honored to hear from Ambassador Richard Grenell, who shared candid insight into the state of our national arts and the decline they have faced in recent years. As President of the Trump–Kennedy Center, he delivered an inspiring update on the remarkable turnaround now underway as this administration restores focus on preserving our cultural heritage.
Another unforgettable experience for RNC members was visiting President Ronald Reagan’s Ranch and Center. As the Great Communicator and a leader with deep Illinois ties, it was inspiring to see how the Young America’s Foundation has preserved this national treasure. Their work is truly special. President Reagan’s words—“There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit”—serve as a powerful reminder for each of us.
Just as President Reagan led with faith, today’s RNC continues to lead with faith—guided by the God upon whom this nation was founded. Rhonda Belford is honored to serve on the Faith Engagement Committee, and we are both excited about the meaningful work ahead as we continue engaging faith-believing communities across Illinois and our nation. Know God—plus you—is the majority.
Thank you for trusting us to represent you. We are proud to serve and remain committed to fighting for our values, our freedoms, and our future.
