Donald Trump just accepted a $2.5 million bribe to overturn my work as a federal prosecutor.
As a federal prosecutor, I led the investigation into Julio Herrera Velutini’s illegal bribery of the former Governor of Puerto Rico.
Then, just as Herrera Velutini was at his criminal trial, his daughter made a $2.5 million contribution to MAGA Inc., Donald Trump’s super PAC. On Friday, Trump pardoned both the former governor and Herrera Velutini.
This is the cycle of the Trump administration’s corruption: criminal cronyism, a donation, a pardon, and all of it completely out in the open.
This open sale of justice occurred SEPARATELY from the Eric Adams case, where the Trump administration asked me to drop a case for political reasons. I refused, because my oath was to the Constitution and the rule of law, not the President.
I have trained prosecutors worldwide on prosecuting corrupt public officials. And I can tell you that it doesn’t take long before corruption becomes a part of a nation’s culture. We are running out of time to stop the damage being done.
That’s why I’m running for Congress — to fight for a justice system that serves the public, not the powerful.
To end this corruption, we must flip PA-07. Will you split $10 between my campaign and the Democratic Party of Georgia right now to help fuel our fight?
