Dear Neighbor,
Last week marked one year of President Trump’s second term, and the results speak for themselves. In just twelve months, President Trump and Republicans in Congress have delivered real progress for the American people by securing the border, lowering costs, ending taxes on tips, passing historic tax relief for seniors and families, eliminating billions in waste, fraud, and abuse, and restoring peace through strength. I am proud to be part of this historic effort to keep our promises and put America First. And we are just getting started.

Expanding Access to Life-Saving Care for Children: I recently introduced legislation to expand children’s access to advanced genomic sequencing under Medicaid. For too many families, the search for answers can take years, involving countless tests, uncertainty, and emotional and financial strain. This bill clarifies and expands access to cutting-edge diagnostic tools that can lead to earlier diagnoses, more targeted treatments, and better care for children with rare diseases. Read more about my bill here.
Standing Strong for Life: Last week, we saw millions of passionate prolife advocates marching in Washington. I am unapologetically pro-life and honored to have once again earned an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America for my voting record this term. Protecting the dignity and value of every human life is a cause I will always stand for, and I am proud to fight for it in Congress.

Last week, the House passed the Empowering Pregnant Students Act, ensuring women have the guidance and resources they need to navigate pregnancy while continuing their education. No student should ever feel pressured to end a pregnancy just to keep a scholarship or stay in school.
Protecting Our Military Families: I am working to strengthen standards for military base housing so our service members and their families never have to endure unsafe or substandard living conditions. From MacDill to installations across the country, military families deserve safe and healthy homes. Click here to read more about my efforts through co-sponsorship of the MOLD Act.
Strengthening America’s Supply Chains: With last week’s passage of H.J. Res. 140, we are unlocking access to the world’s second-largest copper deposit, reducing our reliance on foreign adversaries for critical minerals and strengthening America’s economic and national security.
Holding Insurance Companies Accountable: During last week’s Health Subcommittee hearing, I held the CEOs of the nation’s largest insurance companies accountable, demanding answers on rising health care costs, affordability, and the role insurers must play in addressing the challenges Americans face every day. Watch the clip here.
Improving Public Safety: In last week's Energy and Commerce Full Committee Markup, we considered 11 pieces of legislation that will provide permitting reform under the Clean Air Act, support American energy dominance, and improve public safety communications. Two of the bills included in this markup are measures I am proud to co-lead with my colleague, Rep. Matsui - the Emergency Reporting Act and the Kari’s Law Reporting Act—both of which build on critical efforts to improve emergency response and save lives by modernizing how emergency calls are reported and handled. These bills now head to the Floor for full consideration by the House.
Advancing Critical Health Care Priorities: Last week, the House passed our final appropriations package, which includes eight key measures I spearheaded to support seniors, families, and children battling cancer. I am urging my Senate colleagues to act quickly so these critical priorities become law and deliver real help to those who need it most.
Delivering for Our Community: The House-passed spending package also included funding for three additional local projects I sponsored to support critical infrastructure in our community. With these investments, my total for FY26 now stands at $20,840,000, delivering real results and resources right here at home.
Community Connection
I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties, members of my team attended several events last week. Here are a few highlights.
My team spoke with the Wellington Veterans Club about how our office can assist individual veterans through casework.
My team was also proud to attend the Pasco County MLK Day celebration, joining community members in honoring Dr. King’s enduring legacy of service, justice, and unity.
Additionally, my team was honored to attend the Hernando County Fire Department graduation, promotion and award ceremony, celebrating the dedication and commitment of the newest graduates as they begin their service to the community.
Constituent Corner
