Look, being a former Republican isn’t my whole story.

My mother immigrated from the Philippines as an organic chemist. I
followed in her footsteps and majored in biochemistry before I went to Law
School to pursue my true passion – Constitutional Law.

Looking back, the Constitution was my first love. At 10, I was obsessed
with the Watergate Scandal. (Little did I know that was child's play
compared to what Trump would do).

I know that sounds boring and nerdy, but the promise of our democracy,
freedoms, and the rule of law fascinates me – and for years I thought
Republicans upheld those same ideals.

I was so wrong. When I finally got a peek under the hood and saw what
these lying, sleazebag, horrible MAGA loyalists were doing to our country,
I couldn’t stomach it.

Since then, I’ve put my money and time where my mouth is. I regret my 2016
vote for Donald Trump every single day – but I need to do more.

So John, I know I’m not your typical Democrat. And I don’t
intend to lead like one. I know the fight we’re up against, and I won't
