Team,
The solutions to curb our gun violence crisis in America are clear, but we need Congress to act to implement them.
House Democrats took action: H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112 would require universal background checks on all gun purchases and fund gun violence prevention research for the first time in decades. Gerry was proud to vote for both -- in February!
Mitch McConnell has let them languish in the Senate ever since. We can’t let him continue to stall common-sense solutions that could help prevent the next mass shooting. Add your name to call on the Senate to come back to Washington and pass gun violence prevention legislation immediately. >>
Gerry understands the urgency of addressing gun violence, which is why he helped pass these reforms months ago.
Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies continue to let the NRA control the Senate floor. More than six months after the House passed the first pieces of major gun legislation in a generation, the Senate has yet to take a single vote on either bill.
Americans deserve better than this cowardice -- we deserve sensible action that saves lives. If you agree that the Senate should return to Washington and act on gun violence prevention legislation immediately, add your name today. >>
Thank you for taking action!
