A new report confirms what families down here in South Texas feel every day: Texas is losing manufacturing jobs, and people are being left with fewer opportunities and higher costs. At the same time, millions of Americans stand to lose their health care coverage and SNAP benefits because of last year’s so-called “big beautiful bill.”

That bill didn’t build anything beautiful for us.

But Monica de la Cruz voted for it. Instead of lowering costs or protecting jobs, that vote put politics over people.

That’s what happens when leaders stop showing up for their district and start voting on autopilot for their party.

I’m running for Congress because I refuse to accept an economy where working families are treated as expendable. We deserve leadership that shows up early, stays late, and does the work to make life more affordable.
