On Wednesday, I proudly stood shoulder to shoulder with neighbors and community members at an ICE protest to say clearly and publicly that our communities deserve dignity, safety, and due process.
John, we are living in a moment when parents are afraid to drop their kids off at school, workers worry about going to their jobs, and families hesitate before entering their places of worship in fear that they will be targeted.
Trump and his MAGA allies want us scared, isolated, and hopeless.
But last night, we made clear that as they terrorize our communities, murder our neighbors, and pull trillions of dollars in funding from Affordable Care Act subsidies to fund rogue institutions like ICE — we won’t stand by silently as it happens.
And this isn’t my first rodeo, John. I’ve been protesting ICE since I was an organizer, and then as a Colorado State Senator I strengthened protections for immigrant communities from ICE overreach.
Coloradans deserve a leader who will not only name that an injustice has happened in our community but will actually do something about it.
That’s why I support abolishing ICE, full stop.
