RECAP: Vouchers Disguised as Scholarships Town Hall

John,

We missed you at our Vouchers Disguised as “Scholarships” Town Hall with Color Of Change and the National Education Association. With over 500 attendees and vital information shared, we wanted to make sure to send you a recap. You can check out the video here!

Thank you to our amazing panelists and partners on the call:

Becky Pringle, President of the National Education Association

Marisol Garcia, President of the Arizona Education Association

Dr. Linh Dang,  Senior Policy Specialist with the National Education Association

Janel George, Associate Professor, Founding Director of the Racial Equity in Education Law and Policy Clinic at Georgetown Law.

Last night’s conversation underscored what so many communities are facing right now: voucher schemes marketed as “choice” are draining public schools, accelerating privatization, and putting Black students and families at risk. Hearing directly from educators and movement leaders made it clear that defending fully funded public schools will take all of us.

This work doesn’t stop here. We’re continuing to organize, share information, and push for policies that put students and communities first.

Take action:

Tell your Governor to Reject Vouchers disguised as Scholarships

Speak Up About It

We hope you stay connected. We’re grateful for your commitment to protecting public education.
