Hi John,
We had an incredible weekend in Baltimore with more than 900 union members, activists, organizers and leaders at the 2026 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference.
Attendees heard from AFL-CIO officers President Liz Shuler and Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond; Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., New York Times best-selling author and James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor, Princeton University; Roxanne Brown, vice president at large and president-elect, United Steelworkers; and many other important voices for workers’ rights and civil rights. |

Over four meaningful days, participants learned, listened and planned for a better future, one where all workers are at the center of our economy with good, family-sustaining union jobs. Where all workers’ fundamental human rights are protected, and they are safe to live their lives without fear, intimidation or harassment. Where workers, not billionaires, determine the course of our country and our communities.
Thank you for helping us carry Dr. King’s legacy forward for future generations. We hope to see you next year!
