John,
Florida is already one of the most gerrymandered states in the country, but now Ron DeSantis wants to further rob his own constituents of their rightful representation in Congress— all to please the Sunshine State’s most famous resident, Donald Trump.
The governor has called for a special legislative session to further exploit what is already an extreme gerrymander. And if this latest manipulation succeeds, millions of voters—particularly Black and Latino voters—will have their voting power weakened.
Republicans in Florida are attempting a shameless power grab in order to cling to a majority in the U.S. House. Join the NDR PAC as we fight back against their cynical redistricting scheme. [[link removed]]

As Ron DeSantis knows, Florida hasn’t always been a red state. From the early 1970s to 2000, more Floridians were registered as Democrats than Republicans.
In fact, Florida had a 16-11 split among Republican and Democratic congressional representatives before 2022, when DeSantis and his allies passed a gerrymandered map that flipped three seats for Republicans. And it’s why he thinks he can keep diluting the voting power of his constituents.
Republicans now have a 20-8 majority over Democrats—and yet they want to manipulate the map even more to give themselves an unearned advantage at the voters’ expense, especially in communities of color.
Florida is just one of several states where Republicans are attempting to redraw their maps in order to prevent their party from losing power in this November’s midterm election. It’s pathetic and desperate, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult for a grassroots organization like ours to fight effectively, as so much will depend on whether or not DeSantis succeeds in passing a new, even more egregious gerrymander.
To defeat DeSantis and his allies, we have to combat their efforts with everything we've got. Can you donate $30 or more today to defend our democracy from cynical attacks? [[link removed]]
