Yesterday, Jack Smith testified before the House Judiciary Committee, and I was the first member to question him. You can watch the full exchange here.
In response to my questions, Smith was forced to admit that he was reversed and rebuked by multiple Democrat-appointed judges, and even the DOJ itself, for overstepping his authority and subverting constitutional rights. Still, he wouldn’t say he made a single mistake.
Later in the day, we had a major victory: the House passed my proposal to make California High-Speed Rail permanently ineligible for federal funding. The measure passed in an overwhelming bipartisan vote as part of an appropriations bill that will soon be signed into law.
In a separate Judiciary hearing, I had an exchange with Nick Shirley, whose viral videos uncovered the fraud in Minnesota and led to the downfall of Tim Walz. Shirley told me he suspects the fraud in California is even worse than Minnesota. He's of course right.
We're already bringing accountability for this staggering fraud. On top of High-Speed Rail, we've instituted ID verification for community college applications after 1.2 million fakes and seen several indictments for fraudulent homelessness spending.
I’m also pursuing a full comprehensive audit of the entire California budget. And President Trump, who recently announced his own investigation into California fraud, reposted my recent breakdown of the tens of billions we already know about.
Newsom, for his part, has come up with a brilliant way to reduce the homeless population after causing it to skyrocket for years: simply don't count all the homeless people. Los Angeles was caught undercounting by 30 percent and many regional agencies haven't counted at all.
Newsom also showed up for the World Economic Forum but was denied a speaking role, much as Kamala refused to let him onstage at her Convention. Perhaps it has something to do with what I noted today on Morning Joe: he’s made California the nation’s most unaffordable state.
