The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is shutting down after relentless attacks from Trump and MAGA extremists who know that a free, independent press is a threat to their agenda.
PBS and NPR have educated generations of Americans, delivered trusted local news, and ensured rural and underserved communities aren’t left in the dark. Once they’re gone, there’s no easy way to bring them back.
That’s why public figures like Stephen Colbert are speaking out. But public pressure only works if people continue to show up every day .
That’s why we’re asking, please, take 10 seconds to stand up to defend public broadcasting: Add your name to defend public broadcasting now! » [[link removed]]

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting — which helped fund NPR, PBS and many local radio and TV stations – voted to dissolve the private, nonprofit corporation after 58 years of service.
For more than half a century, it ensured that all Americans — regardless of their zip code, income, or background — had access to trusted news, educational programming.
It’s absolutely critical that Americans continue putting pressure on Congress until the midterms to ensure public media survives through the end of the year.
We must not allow Trump’s attack on public broadcasting to come to fruition and completely deteriorate our democracy.
That’s why we’re gathering signatures on our “Defend Public Broadcasting” petition and we’re counting on you to add your name before midnight. » [[link removed]]
