The next round of hearings for Trump’s judicial nominees is almost here. And if history is any guide, Senate Democrats are preparing to make the same disastrous mistake — again.
Trump isn’t nominating neutral arbiters of the law. He’s nominating loyalists and enablers. Judges hand-picked to protect his power, excuse his crimes, and rubber-stamp authoritarianism from the bench.
These nominees won’t say Biden won the 2020 election.
They won’t condemn January 6.
They won’t even admit an insurrection happened.
Why? Because their job isn’t to defend the Constitution — it’s to stay in Trump’s good graces.
And yet, time after time, there have been 18 Senate Democrats who have waved them through.
Every confirmation hearing is a line in the sand. Every Democratic vote to advance these judges is a green light for Trump to keep hijacking the courts — long after he leaves office.
We're done pretending this is inevitable.
