John,
What happens when our government allows masked agents to run wild? What happens when our government manufactures fear and stokes the flames of racism? What happens when safety is replaced with unnecessary violence?
What happens is innocent lives are lost, families are ripped apart and our freedoms and future are put at risk.
ICE needs to get out of our communities -- show your solidarity at an ICE OUT For Good event tomorrow. [[link removed]]
ICE killed Renee Good in Minneapolis. The same day, two young men were harassed and detained in North Carolina. A day later, ICE officers shot two people in Portland.
No one should be snatched from their block. No one should be killed by masked gunmen.
The ICE agents responsible must be held accountable and ICE must be removed from our communities before more lives are taken. This wasn't just a killing in a vacuum; it's part of a pattern of violence by ICE that keeps getting worse. A pattern of violence that has killed more than just Renee--but Black and brown working people across the country.
Tomorrow, at an event near you, loudly demand ICE get OUT of our communities. [[link removed]]
There is no justification for the level of violence being used. Working people want peace and safety. We want lower prices and better economic opportunities for our families, not citizens being gunned down in our streets or neighbors being tackled, detained, and disappeared without a trace.
What we're seeing is unapologetic violence with no recourse or repercussions. ICE agents feel emboldened to inflict violence, and things will only get worse as accountability is skirted and the Vice President goes on national TV to say ICE agents have “absolute immunity.”
No one is safe while ICE is not held accountable.
Take Action: Be a part of the movement protecting workers and their families. Help us reject violence, hate, and fear today! [[link removed]]
We've mourned, organized, and now it's time to take a stand!
In solidarity,
