Not a single county in six states has reached herd immunity for kindergartners.
I'll be blunt, John: This absolutely will not turn out well.
Not a single county in Idaho, Louisiana, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, or Wisconsin has reached kindergarten herd immunity thresholds for vaccinations. Not one.
This country eradicated measles in 2000. Declared polio eliminated in 1994. Now, we are watching vaccination rates plummet due to misinformation, conspiracy theories, and politicians who refuse to stand up for basic facts of public health.
Kids are going to get sick. Some will die.
This is not a hypothetical. It's a preventable reality caused by diseases we've already beaten.
The opposition has played a 50-year game to get here, promoting media that spreads lies, appointing judges and officials who gut public health programs, people who treat science like it's optional. It's our children who will pay the price.
But here's what I know:
There are young, educated, and fearless leaders across the country ready to fight back. Ready to stand up to extremism, protect our communities, and put kids' health over bullshit culture wars. And Leaders We Deserve is ready to help them get elected and make lasting change.
