Nurses are the backbone of our health care system who are on the front lines every day -- standing up when the system puts profits ahead of people. They’re the most trusted profession in America because they fight for their patients and are unafraid to tell the truth.

That’s why this endorsement means so much to me.

The National Nurses Union knows what’s at stake in this race. They see firsthand what happens when politicians slash Medicaid, undermine the Affordable Care Act, and put corporate interests ahead of patients.

David Valadao voted to gut Medicaid and allowed critical ACA tax credits to expire, driving up costs for the nearly 70% of our district who rely on Medi-Cal working families across the Central Valley. Nurses are the ones left to deal with the fallout.

I’m running to fight for health care justice, patient safety, and a system that works for patients and caregivers -- not insurance companies and corporate PACs.
