Hi, Jane Fonda here. I’ve spent my life using my voice to stand up for what’s right, and right now, it's impossible to ignore what's happening in this country.
Whether it's militarized ICE operations terrorizing communities across Minnesota, or Trump handing the same greedy fossil fuel executives who bankrolled his campaign everything they could ever dream — we are watching authoritarianism unfold in real time.
The actions we take in moments like these define what kind of country we choose to be. And they demand leaders who refuse to sit on the sidelines while Trump consolidates power.
Peggy is exactly the kind of leader I had in mind when I launched the Jane Fonda Climate PAC.
While too many politicians look the other way as ICE agents terrorize our neighbors, Peggy shows up. She’s traveled across the state, protested alongside community members, and stood with parents and teachers to demand ICE stay out of schools.
She knows that Minnesotans are resilient. They take care of one another, and that when things get tough, they face it together. It's the same courage she's brought to another fight: taking on the fossil fuel industry that's been poisoning our air and water while buying off politicians.
As Lieutenant Governor, Peggy helped make Minnesota one of the first states to require 100% carbon-free energy by 2040. She secured over $1 billion for climate resilience and clean energy. She's rejecting fossil fuel money.
But I want to be clear: Peggy’s race isn’t an easy win. She’s up against an opponent that has raised over $4 million, with coffers filled to the brim with special interest money from insurance companies, Big Pharma, banks, and the energy industry. There's even a PAC funded by Chevron that spent over $600,000 on digital ads to boost her opponent’s campaign.
Big Oil knows exactly what's at stake. They're terrified of leaders like Peggy who can't be bought.
And that’s why your grassroots support today could not be more necessary. We not only have a real opportunity to send a true fighter to the U.S. Senate, but if elected, Peggy will be the first Native American woman ever to serve in the U.S. Senate.
Now that’s something worth fighting for.
