From Grief to Partnership: An Inspirational Conversation with Aziz Abu Sarah & Maoz Inon At a moment when public conversations about Israel and Palestine feel more polarized than ever, New Jewish Narrative is bringing together two voices who refuse to give up on our shared humanity. Maoz Inon’s parents were killed by Hamas on October 7. Aziz Abu Sarah’s brother died shortly after being beaten in an Israeli prison. But these two individuals did not turn their pain into a desire for retribution. Instead, they draw on their personal tragedies to fuel peace activism. Their partnership is an inspirational example that challenges the idea that Israelis and Palestinians are destined to be adversaries. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 4 at 11 AM Eastern Time. |

Congress to Rubio: Confront Israel’s Reckless West Bank Moves 76 members of Congress sent a letter Monday to Secretary Rubio urging the administration to push back against Israeli efforts to reshape the West Bank. The letter specifically calls out settlement construction in E-1, pro-annexation Knesset bills, and the administration’s decision to rescind Biden-era sanctions on violent settlers. It sent a clear message: that the U.S. needs to use its political power to oppose annexation. This letter was led by Senator Peter Welch and Representative Ro Khanna. The letter, and its backing by NJN and other progressive Jewish groups, was reported on in Haaretz. |

No Government Should Block Humanitarian Aid Senator Wyden crafted the Accountability for Withholding Aid and Relief Essentials (AWARE) Act with lessons from Gaza in mind. The bill would prevent governments from restricting aid anywhere in the world. When a country does block aid, this bill uses targeted sanctions to hold senior officials accountable. It also sends a strong message to the current Israeli government that it must never again use humanitarian aid as a weapon of war. Act now. Tell your senators to support the AWARE Act. |
