Dear Friend,

Today marks 53 years since the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade
made abortion legal nationwide. This was a day to celebrate the right to
critically important health care. But it’s not a day to celebrate anymore,
it’s a day to activate. Why? Since 2022, when Roe was overturned by the
U.S. Supreme Court, access to abortion care has been rolled back in
disastrous ways at the state level.

[ [link removed] ]Let’s demand that our Congressional leaders stand in the fight for
health care, including abortion access!

Access to reproductive health care is being rolled back at the same time
as devastating health care cuts, signed into law by Trump, are happening.
These cuts include almost $1 trillion from Medicaid. [1] And it is
estimated that over 2 million reproductive age women could lose health
care coverage, as a result of these cruel cuts. [1]

Rolling back health care access hurts everyone. And let’s be clear,
increasing abortion restrictions have already proven to be deadly. Since
the overturn of Roe, mothers have died as a result of state-based abortion
bans in places like Georgia and Texas. For instance, after being denied
the health care they needed, Amber Thurman, Candi Miller, Josseli Barnica,
Nevaeh Crain, Porsha Ngumezi, Ciji Graham, and Tierra Walker didn’t
survive their health crises. Their children and families were left
grieving the very preventable deaths of their mothers. [2,3,4,5]

Did you know that most women who have abortions - 6 out of 10 - are
already moms? [ [link removed] ] Polls show that most Americans agree abortion should be
accessible to everyone who needs it. And this has been demonstrated nearly
every time they have voted on the issue at a state level. [ [link removed] ]

A person should be able to decide if they’re going to have children, and
if so, how many. Doctors should be able to provide this essential health
care. It is a right that exists in all other industrialized countries, a
right that women in the U.S. need as well. [ [link removed] ]

restore and expand access to abortion.

Thanks for all you do,
