Friend –
On this day in 1973, the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, affirming a fundamental truth: that women have the right to make our own reproductive health decisions.
For nearly 50 years, Roe stood as a promise of freedom, privacy, and dignity.
And while that promise was shattered on the national level by the Supreme Court in 2022, we have worked hard in Colorado to protect reproductive freedom.
As Secretary of State, I helped ensure that Coloradans could make their voices heard, and they ultimately enshrined reproductive freedom in our state constitution. I defended free and fair elections on this issue in the face of threats, intimidation, and extremist pressure.
I’ll keep up this important fight as Attorney General. I’ll protect Coloradans’ access to reproductive health care from attempts to restrict it. I’ll protect abortion access in Colorado, and I’ll stand against any attempt to prosecute women or doctors over reproductive healthcare.
The lesson of Roe is clear: rights are not permanent unless we defend them.
Across the country, anti-abortion extremists are pushing to criminalize abortion, target doctors and patients, and use state attorney general’s offices as weapons to roll back hard-won freedoms. Even in states like Colorado, those threats are real.
That’s why I’m running for Attorney General.
Chip in now to support my campaign and help me protect reproductive freedom in Colorado.
On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we honor the progress it made — and recommit ourselves to the fight it demands today. Because reproductive freedom is still on the ballot. Because our rights require constant vigilance. And because Colorado must remain a place where freedom means trusting women to make our own decisions about our bodies and healthcare.
Thank you,
Jena Griswold
