| On January 22nd, 1973, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of reproductive freedom with Roe.
53 years later, our laws are even more restrictive and invasive than ever.
According to a Des Moines Register poll, more than 60% of Iowans support reproductive rights.
But because of Iowa’s extreme 6-week abortion ban, we’re struggling to keep medical professionals here. That means longer waiting times and less care.
Our state risks losing our best and brightest health care professionals. People might be less likely to move here. Women will be forced to travel out of state to access the care they need.
It hurts Iowa women, families and communities, trust in government, our economy… no matter how you look at it, it’s simply awful.
I’m angry, John, and I know I’m not the only one. But together, we can do something about this.
I’m still the only statewide elected official in Iowa who openly supports reproductive freedom, and as governor, I’ll work to stop the further erosion of reproductive rights. Will you please add your name to my petition in support of reproductive freedom here in Iowa?
In solidarity,
Rob Sand
