The Local Champions project trains young people in political advocacy skills and supports them to meet their local politicians to advocate for increased youth work funding. Having a local champion from your youth work organisation will
- Help bring a spotlight to and increase political understanding of your unique work and specific challenges.
- Benefit the young person themselves as they gain skills, experiences and are supported to meaningfully have their voice heard.
- Benefit the community as political support increases for young people in the area.
All that’s left is to make sure every area has a Local Champion in 2026! We are asking you to share this opportunity with your youth workers and volunteers to spread the word to young people. You’ll find full details on the Local Champions page of our website.
And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Grace
