You may not know this about me, but fundraising is actually my least favorite part of my job. I got my start in politics as a local precinct committee woman, going door to door to collect petition signatures and it took me a while to get the hang of making that hard ask – so I mean it when I say asking for your hard-earned money is not why I got into public service.

But John, I didn’t become governor after the most competitive campaign in Arizona’s history by accident. I defeated Kari Lake by just over 17,000 votes because my team and I worked hard day in and day out to raise the resources to out-communicate her on the airwaves, on the doors, and online.

I didn’t enjoy asking supporters like you to chip in their hard-earned dollars then, and I don’t enjoy it now, especially as Washington DC Republicans are driving up prices across our economy.

The truth is, I can’t win re-election without grassroots supporters contributing a couple bucks here and there when they can. I don’t have dark money or a personal fortune to fund my campaign – I’m counting on small-dollar donations to fuel us through November.

So I’ll make this brief: Will you chip in $5 to help me win this toss-up race and continue serving another four years as governor of Arizona?

As always — thank you for your support!
