Hi there, it’s New York Governor Kathy Hochul here.

I’ll get right to it. It’s been one year since Donald Trump took office, and since then, he’s enacted policies that are deliberately hurting American families. His administration has done nothing but play political games with New York and our country – and Americans are paying the price.

One thing is clear, team: Trump’s federal overreach cannot go unchecked. That’s why I’m reaching out today to ask you to chip in $3 now to the Democratic Governors Association. Your donation will help elect Dem govs like myself – who will never back down from fighting to protect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

In just one year, Trump and the GOP have suspended essential funding for child care programs, gutted Medicare and SNAP, taken a sledgehammer to our health care system, and jacked up everyday costs for working families.

They are trying hard to knock us down, but Democratic governors across the country are stepping up to meet this moment and protect our rights and values.

When Republicans stopped SNAP funding in November, I joined a lawsuit against the Trump administration with every single Democratic governor to hold them accountable for turning their backs on families.

When Trump attacked abortion access, I signed shield laws to protect abortion patients and providers – like my fellow Dem govs who are working to safeguard reproductive access no matter what state you live in.

And when the Trump administration froze child care funding in 5 Democratic-led states, including New York, we sued and got the funds reinstated – because when you mess with our kids, we’ll fight back and we’ll win.
Dem govs are doing everything we can to stand up for our constituents and take action to defend our progress, protect our freedoms, and move our states forward. With 36 governors’ races on the ballot this November, we need your help to strengthen our blue firewall.
