Friend,
On Friday, tens of thousands of Minnesotans are saying no to work, no to school, no to spending our hard earned money on corporations that continue siding with those terrorizing our communities. Will you join the nationwide strike on January 23 to stand in solidarity with Minnesotans and communities nationwide being targeted by ICE?
Take the Pledge

Nearly 3,000 armed masked ICE agents have been deployed to Minnesota. Working people are being detained on their way to work, school, or even the grocery store, violating the Constitutional and human rights of our neighbors.
The fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of an immigration agent is a reminder of what we’ve known all along: ICE and CBP do not keep us safe. We, the people, keep one another safe. In a moment where we’re witnessing our communities being targeted, harassed, and torn apart, we’re uniting to demonstrate the collective economic power we hold when we stand together. 💪🧡
🗣️Take the pledge, and join the nationwide strike on Friday, January 23rd to send a clear message about our collective economic power: No school, no labor, no shopping until our communities can live in safety and dignity in the places we call home.
This moment requires us to stand united, and your solidarity can take many forms. As Congress continues to pour billions of our taxpayer dollars into the Department of Homeland Security, many of us across the country are struggling to make ends meet. That’s why this nationwide strike is not only about pausing our daily economic activity but also about choosing community over death and destruction.
This Friday, Minnesotans are calling on us to:
-
Stay home from work and school 🏠
-
Refuse to shop or spend money in large corporations 💵
-
Choose rest and community over businesses 🫂
Whether you’re striking for an hour, or inviting a friend to participate in the nationwide strike, your participation matters. Commit today to participating in the nationwide strike! When you sign the pledge, you'll receive a link to posters and graphics you can use to invite your friends to join the strike.
In solidarity,
Ximena and the UWD team
