When I first ran for County Commissioner, I wasn’t supposed to win. I was a first-time candidate, I was young, and I was running against a twelve year incumbent who also happened to be the Chair of the Illinois Republican Party.

They told me to wait my turn.

They told me I didn’t have the experience.

They told me that my time would come, eventually.

But I didn’t listen. We built a grassroots movement centered around the real issues in the community, and against all odds, I FLIPPED a RED seat BLUE.

Now, I'm running for Congress with that same energy. And once again, the stakes are high.
