Chad. A massive influx of Sudanese refugees that persisted for nearly three years following the outbreak of the war in Sudan

Hi John,

Around the world, millions of people are forced to flee their homes because of violence or disaster. Every day, we, at UNHCR, work in over 125 countries, helping families find safety, stability, and the support they need to rebuild their lives.

In Sudan and neighbouring Chad, our colleagues are responding to one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises. Pictured above is Monira, who fled El Fasher in North Darfur and has been living in Farchana refugee settlement in Chad ever since.

“Life in the camp has always been difficult,” Monira says, “but the water shortage is especially hard. We spend hours queuing, and sometimes we go an entire week without any water.”

After more than two and a half years of conflict, nearly 12 million people in Sudan have been forced from their homes, many crossing into Chad in search of safety.

Your support today can help ensure families like Monira’s have access to emergency assistance and the protection they urgently need.

Here’s why your support really matters for displaced people around the world:

  • It ensures we can deliver emergency tents, blankets, and clean water within hours of a crisis.
  • It essentials like food, medical care, and access to safe sanitation.
  • It helps refugees rebuild their lives through training, education, and support for small businesses.

And most importantly, it keeps hope alive by helping families find safety and stability again.

Your support can help turn fear and uncertainty into safety and hope.

Thank you for your support,

Monia Hassan
