ICE is trying to build a mass detention camp in an abandoned warehouse in my district—what MAGA calls “like Amazon Prime but for people.”

I won’t stand for this. ICE has shown again and again they have no interest in basic human rights, dignity, or following the law.

It’s time to throw sand in the gears of the Trump deportation machine. My team and I are going to show up at every community event, go door to door to have real conversations with people, and stand shoulder to shoulder with residents, advocates, and Americans from all walks of life to shut down ICE’s sordid plans and make them know they are not welcome in New Hampshire.

This fight is personal for me. I am a first-generation Mexican-American son of immigrants. I fought for human rights as an attorney and have served this country in uniform. 

ICE is targeting people because they speak Spanish or because they have accents (like my parents), or simply because they don’t “look American” to them. 

But standing up to ICE and speaking out against the abuses of this Administration increasingly means putting a target on one’s back. I will not back down from this fight—but you can bet that the Trump Administration is going to come after me with political hit jobs and even personal threats. 

They’ve done this again and again: launching so-called “investigations” into Gov. Tim Walz in Minnesota, prosecuting multiple members of Congress for frivolous charges of “obstruction” when they were conducting congressional oversight of ICE, and leveling baseless accusations of corruption and fraud against anyone willing to stand in their way.

The only way we win this fight is by sticking together. I need to know I have the support of the people and those who are willing to do the work to make change and save our country. Will you stand with me and help me prepare for MAGA’s inevitable attacks and personal smears?
